Follow Up: Energy Speculation Bill Moving Forward

The Democratic backed oil speculation bill that failed to reach the required sixty votes last Friday, may now be gaining steam. Pressured by the August recess fastly approaching, Democratic leaders offered Republicans a few amendments to the bill that would hopefully move it forward. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid offered Republicans to have four amendments to the bill including: lifting oil bans and allowing for more offshore drilling. The bill is aimed at combatting high oil and gasoline prices.
