More Three Day Weekends?

Let’s face it, most all people love three day weekends. The thought of three days away from work for the most of us is always something to look forward to. If you agree with any of the above, then you may be in luck. A growing number of municipalities and private companies are pushing the idea of a four day work week, thus meaning a three day weekend. The new work week will feature four days at ten hours a day, instead of the usual five days at eight hours per day. In fact, certain government employees in the state of Utah will be switching over to this new work schedule.

Sparked by record high gasoline and electricity prices, places like that found in Utah will be utilizing the four day work week to reduce costs. In addition to reducing heating and air conditioning costs for the buildings that these people work in, there will be a reduction in the pollution produced from all the people driving into and out of work, and often workers enthusiasm for their job will be higher.

Just look out. Where you work may be switching over to this new work week sooner than you know it.

I agree. The 3 day work week is a great idea for saving energy, cutting down on polution, and giving the work force and extra day off. Once you become accustioned to the 10 hour days they go by just as fast, psycholigically, as an 8 hour day.

I think it is a win, win situation for employers, workers, and for energy conservation which is good for America.

I just started the 4 day work week…two weeks ago and it is working out great.
