3M Expanding Renewable Energy Sector
Yesterday it was announced that 3M would be expanding its renewable energy sector to cash in on the growing alternative energy market. With the solar energy market expected to grow nearly 2-fold from $20 billion dollar a year to an estimated $50 billion a year by the year 2012, it comes as no surprise as to why businesses like 3M are wanting to invest in renewable energy products. Currently 3M has sales that total about $200 million a year from solar power goods.
